525 TFS Bulldogs, Inc
2009 Bitburg Reunion
(525-Day 2009)
19-21 June 2009
Colorado Springs, CO

Host Dog/MC : Scrantz Special Guest: King of Krud Buzzard Gophers: Fang, Flower and Hendo
Quarters: Antlers Hilton, 350 room high rise 4* hotel in downtown Colo Springs -- $119 to $159 per night. We have booked the 13th floor hospitality suite but the Antlers' various internet/govt/airline and occasional retired mil rates are well below their group rate offer ($149) that required a non-cancellation and minimum number of room clauses.
We recommend individual room bookings and we will sort room groupings with the hotel staff later.
17 flag officer quarters also available at Rampart Lodge at the academy (call USAFA Protocol).
Thursday 18 June: Early arrival opening ceremonies at a gopher village residence (tbd after the gophers' wives lawyer tells us where)
Friday 19 June: Late morning: Match Play golf tourney at Academy Blue Course (OPR Fang). Ladies will do Old Colorado City shopping, Garden of the Gods and High Tee at Glynn Erie Castle (OPR Erin and Dancer). Evening at Edelweiss Rathskellar (OPR Herr Flower).
Saturday 20 June: AM golf scramble at Academy Silver. Ladies do Manitou Springs and Pikes Peak Hill Climb (via cog train with special musik by Katherine Lee Bates). Happy Hour Crud Tourney at Phantom Canyon Brewery Billiards Hall with heavy H'or d'ouvers and drink (OPR Hendo). Rest of evening at leisure/Broadmoor Golden Bee.
Sunday 21 June (Fathers Day) Mass at hotel with The Most Rev Bishop Richard Higgins (inc last rites for crud players
exceeding 25 morts). Ladies white water rafting on the Arkansas River ( Flower's last rites to following downstream recovery....).

Rebel has worked a bit of magic and a Bulldog F-22 from Alaska en-route to the factory for scheduled maintenance will be stopping in at Petersen for refueling/rest. In addition, an Oregon ANG Lieutenant who now owns Miss 79-069, aka ‘The Love Machine,’ with its’ Mirage F-1 kill in Desert Storm, is trying to sweet talk his boss into letting him bring her to the reunion (the jet not the kill). Bulldogs Spyro Prather, who got the kill along with his flight lead that day Gunga Dinge (helo kill), are working their schedules trying to get here as well. On top of that, Troy ‘TJ’ McGrath (USAFA 98) is bringing a T-2 Texan up from Randolph and will rope in a cadet or two to help pass on tradition.
GO AF!!
The party starts with an Icebreaker BBQ on Hendo & Sandy’s deck at 5565 Villanova Ct, Colorado Springs, 80918, Thursday evening. We originally called it the Early Bird Party thinking most folks would arrive Friday, but when over 80 of you signed up for the party, the name changed to better reflect the situation. For late Thursday afternoon and evening arrivals, Flower and Dancer will meet and greet at the hotel hospitality suite to get you started.
Friday's golf and sightseeing are on track; we have a couple spots left for Erin's Glen Eyrie High Tea in the Garden of the Gods. We can also add room for Fang's Low-Tees (golf at the Academy) Friday and Saturday afternoon. For Saturday's cog train up Pikes Peak, Kathy Barr will lead the charge to where Katherine Lee Bates wrote America The Beautiful in 1892, but we need to buy non-refundable tickets by June 1st so please let us know of any changes there. Saturday's happy hour Crud Tourney starts at 1700 hrs and includes 'Pub Grub' horsedouvers, micro brews, wells, and mini-morts. Doc Fryeye (Cliff) will be in attendance as will the Most Rev Bishop Higgins. (phantomcanyon.com).
Several folks have inquired about payment. I plan to email each of you by the end of May with the amount you committed for on your registration form and where to send payment. We'd appreciate a check the first week of June so we can get the bookkeeping done before everyone arrives and things get hectic.
Regarding the latest on the Antlers Hilton, Hendo noticed this week they are offering a $135 Thursday night rate and a $121 for Friday/Saturday night rate/ IF you book through Hilton.com …... You'll need to make two separate Non-refundable reservations as a three day booking defaults to the $135 price....go figure. We're going down to talk to them Tuesday but so far we've not been very successful using fighter pilot logic on their POC....maybe this time...flexibility remains the key to air power and we'll keep you posted. As mentioned before, when you add in airfare, car, activities, etc., it probably doesn't make all that much difference in the big scheme of things.
We regret to inform you that the Sunday White Water Rafting didn't get enough sign-ups and has been thrown overboard along with its sponsor. The only volunteers were those without roundtrip airfare plus one fighter pilot turned ambulance chaser from DC. USAA recommended cancellation once they learned of his,
We close on Sunday with optional brunch at the hotel.
If you haven't sent in your registration form, now's the time.
Email or call me (719) 648-9594 so we can get you included.
Don’t miss out on the fun and history!

Abends Bit, Morgan fit!
